T O P I C R E V I E WChuckster01I am looking for an original Apollo 15 Crew patch, silver or gold but not flown. If anyone has one they would be willing to part with please contact me.Kevin T. RandallI've sent you an e-mail Chuck.Chuckster01I am still looking.Chuckster01And yes I am still looking.Kevin T. RandallFound it Chuck, e-mail sent.Chuckster01I now have an Apollo 15 silver crew patch and my thanks to Kevin. For anyone like Chris who keep track, the sale price was $1,200 shipping included. Not cheap but I now have a complete set of crew patches and I am a happy camper.WehaveliftoffAnd that was not flown. It would have sent me into orbit with that amount. Chuckster01After speaking to Al Worden about these patches I have come to understand how truly rare these are. According to Al he only had five or six each plus an artist proof set that he received and he understood the other astronauts had about the same. The reason Dave Scott has sold so many flown patches is he got possession of many the patches flown on the mission. So I believe these are rarest of all the crew patches and in several years of looking this is the only one I have found for sale. (Can't believe I missed the eBay patch sold for $600.) Kevin T. RandallI'm so glad this very rare Apollo 15 crew patch arrived safely Chuck, as there were several attempts by USPS to deliver it.I have been the owner of that patch since January 1972. It was one of the first patches I ever bought direct from AB Emblem along with the rest of that Apollo set, (except the Apollo 1 and 17 patches which weren't available to buy then).
